Create timely marketing campaigns ahead of time

Friday morning we woke up to the first snow of the season.

About an inch and a half by our measure but it was sticking which was an improvement over prior storms.

With the snow comes a bunch of emails from local companies about the weather, the storm, etc. Timely, relevant, and interesting enough to open which is the first hurdle for emails.

Many of these campaigns can be prewritten too.

Portland has a few snow storms every year so you could write something anytime and have it at the ready. Swap in a current promotion, add anything interesting about the current storm, and you're ready to go.

Pre-creating campaigns like this is perfect for slow times too. I mention getting winter holiday campaigns ready in summer but really, any regular campaign can be written months ahead of time.

(And many of these campaigns can be reused from year-to-year but shhh, don't say that out loud or your competitors might hear it...)

Snow campaigns are just one example of a timely campaign that can be kept in your pocket. Holiday campaigns are even easier because you know they'll happen and there are 100s of holidays every year (happy National Gumdrop Day by the way).

If you're not sure what products to promote, Repeat Customer Insights has a product report that will show you which products lead to the customers who spend the most. Mix those best-customer-creator products with your best sellers and you'll set your campaign up for success.

Snow or shine.
