In your experience, do you think e-commerce SEO is a bit different than non e-commerce SEO?
At the core, SEO for ecommerce is the same as any other website at least on the tactical level (the what you do).
On a higher, strategy-level there can be some differences (the why you do something).
You might be targeting keywords that are further along the buying cycle and might be focused on longer-tail keywords more (specific products, brands).
You might need automation and plans to scale content out more rapidly than most general websites (e.g. new product line adding 100s of pages VS a regular website with maybe one page updated per day).
You might struggle to get product pages to rank well unless you dedicate resources to creating content and connections.
Of course there are vast differences between ecommerce and regular websites when it comes to design, user flow, and experience. But those don’t impact or the differences don’t matter to SEO.
At the end of the day, SEO comes down to creating a high quality website with lots of great content that Google’s searchers want and getting other sites to link to that content (backlinks). How that’s done is the pretty universal and doesn’t make ecommerce that different.
