Shopify Dispatch Issue #267 - Subscriptions and upsells in Shopify checkout, Sass on chopping block

Merchants Can Now Offer Subscriptions and Post-Purchase Upsells Directly in Shopify Checkout

The big news this week is that Shopify Apps can now offer subscriptions and upsells in Shopify's checkout. This fills a major feature gap in Shopify.

Though if this is something you've wanting for the holidays, I'd urge you to get started now to get it integrated and tested as soon as possible. There's likely to be a lot of edge cases or gotchas you'll need to find before the orders start rolling in.

Deprecating Sass for Shopify Themes

Shopify is also getting ready to remove the Sass technology for Shopify themes. While it's technical, many of Shopify themes still use Sass so this could require a lot of work for your developers, especially with older Shopify themes who can't easily upgrade.

Their article says "Sass will continue to work on Shopify themes" and "For the moment, themes containing .scss files will continue to function and storefronts will not be affected if a theme uses Sass." so there doesn't seem to be a deadline for this yet. You will need to be aware of it though and have a migration plan ready.
